Hold on to your hats everyone, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is finally here and we couldn’t be more excited! Head designer of shoes for the show, Brian Atwood, spoke to Footwear News exclusively about what we can expect on the runway this year!
This is it everyone — the moment we’ve all been waiting for — the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Everyone knows this is the best night of the year because we get to watch all of the supermodels strut their stuff in barely any clothes, see amazing performances, and of course, look at the fabulous lingerie. Considering the models are only in bras and underwear, the one accessory that always steals the show are the shoes.

This year, Brian Atwood, is the head designer of shoes for the show and he gave our sister site, Footwear News, an exclusive sneak peek:

“This year’s show is the 20th annual one for the lingerie brand, and some well-known names are walking, from Kendall Jenner and Martha Hunt to Gigi Hadid, who famously posted her reaction to getting her “Angel wings” on Instagram last week.
The show is divvied up into six themes this year: Boho, Portrait of a Lady, Butterfly, Pink USA, Ice Angels and Fireworks.
Atwood gave us a peek at the Butterfly collection, which definitely has a standout shoe. Atwood designed a dreamy purple-and-red sandal in the shape of a butterfly, with sweet feathery antennae. It’s a playful interpretation for the runway, and we can’t wait to see what else is included.
We’re also seeing a bit of a winter wonderland with the Ice Angels with fur embellished gladiators and winter-white booties.
Previous years, designers such as Nicholas Kirkwood, Sophia Webster and Giuseppe Zanotti have all been behind Victoria’s Secret runway shoes.”
